Holistic versus Analytical Approaches to Jungian Typology
There are two approaches to MBTI: the analytical approach and the holistic approach. The analytical approach revolves around a cognitive functions framework, while the holistic approach is more whole-person based. Both approaches have their benefits, and neither is in all cases superior than the other.
The Self-Concept: Another Way to Approach Personality Typology
We should approach personality tests, and personality typology more broadly, as a means of determining the self-concept, and not as objective psychometrics. In this manner, typology can be used to recognize and then eliminate self-imposed road blocks to self-growth.
